Watch a full Motion City Soundtrack concert
So I may have mentioned my favorite band, Motion City Soundtrack on here a few times. Well today I am off to Sioux Falls to see them for my 11th time. It’s by far the most I’ve ever seen a band. I’ve seen them about once a year since 2003, and they never get old. This will be my first time seeing them without drummer Tony Thaxton. It’s pretty bad that I have noticed the wear on Matthew Taylor’s bass increase over the years. I usually end up on his side of the stage.
The above video should be a full concert performance from February 28th, 2013 in Sydney, Australia. You can see the greatness that is Motion City Soundtrack. If for some reason the video doesn’t work, you can watch it here.

My newest favorite musical artist, Allison Weiss
I just discovered Allison Weiss, and am in love with her. I picked up her 2009 album …Was Right All Along, and it’s amazing. The above video is her playing the first track off the album titled, “I Was an Island”. It’s one of my favorites. I discovered her just in time for her next album which comes out on April 16th. I already pre-ordered it and can’t wait to hear it.

So Long and Thanks for all the Beats @tonythaxton
Yesterday Tony Thaxton, the drummer for my favorite band Motion City Soundtrack, announced that he was quitting the band. I was shocked, but do understand how the constant touring could get old. The above video was his last ever performance in Manila. I was lucky enough to see his final performance in the US last November. Obviously I don’t know Tony personally, but I have been reading his blog and following him on Twitter for years, so it almost feels like I know him. I even root for the Bears a little knowing that Tony is a big Bears fan.
Thanks for the beats man.

A belated happy birthday to Kurt
So I was going to post about Kurt Cobain’s birthday a couple days ago on the 20th, but life got in the way. Kurt would have been 46. I always wonder what if. Three studio albums just wasn’t enough.
Nirvana’s Unplugged performance solidified them as my all time favorite band. The screamy songs that many people say they couldn’t understand the words of, are amazing stripped down. It just sucks that Nirvana was over just five short months after this performance.
