Keyboard Nerd

I’m definitely turning into a keyboard nerd. Mechanical keyboards are so much better than those cheap, mushy ones. I have a very nice Keychron and I love it. I’ve upgraded my keycaps to a style and color scheme that I like.

I originally had Gateron Jupiter Brown tactile switches, which I thought were great–until today. I just swapped them out for some Gateron Smoothie linear switches, and these things are amazing. I didn’t think I would really notice the difference between linear and tactile because it seemed so subtle, but holy cow–the difference is huge. I think I’m a linear switch fan now. It might just be in my head, but I feel like I can type faster and more accurately with these new switches.

It’s crazy how many different types of switches are out there. I’m not one to swap them out all the time, so I’ll be sticking with the Smoothies for a long while. I’m sure there are even “better” switches out there, but I couldn’t be happier with these.
