Flashback Friday: Mr. T Experience – “Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba”
I only saw Mr. T Experience videos on MTV a couple of times, but it didn’t take much for me to get hooked. They are one of my favorites, but sadly they aren’t releasing albums as often nowadays. The lead singer, Dr. Frank, has been spending his time writing novels. I have read both of his books King Dork and Andromeda Klein, and will probably read anything he writes.

The internet killed my video games
Back in the day I was a huge video game player. The other day I just realized I haven’t turned on the Xbox since January 1st of this year. My wife is the gamer in the house. She is always buying the latest games. Yesterday she bought the new Saints Row game. I saw Skyrim in the store, and wished I had the time to attempt to play it, but I know I don’t.
I guess it’s not that I don’t have the time, I just have other things that I would rather be doing, mostly wasting time on the internet and watching podcasts. I am so out-of-touch with current video games, I would probably be lost it I tried playing them. They are so much more complex then they were back in the day on my NES. I hardly ever play games on my iPhone or iPad either. I just would rather spend my time nowadays reading. Sometimes I miss the all-nighters I put in with my Nintendo. Now my all-nighters are spent reading news online. I feel I’m much more informed with what’s going on in the world, almost too much, but my video game playing has suffered. I guess I’m getting old, now get off my lawn.

JoCo crazy
I got my autographed Jonathan Coulton cd today. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. I already have the digital downloads, so I don’t even have to rip it. I guess it’s just proof that I buy things I don’t need just to support artists I like.

Flashback Friday: Bad Religion – “American Jesus”
Seeing the “American Jesus” video on MTV was my first introduction to Bad Religion. I was instantly a fan. They were one of the few punk bands that I was into that actually got played on MTV. I have every Bad Religion album, and they have a lot. The band formed in 1979, and are still going strong putting out a new album every couple of years.

Want to see something vanish right in front of your eyes?
This is one of the better illusions that I have seen lately. Just stare at the center of the image and it will slowly vanish.

Happy birthday Carl Sagan
Carl Sagan was born 77 orbits ago. He was responsible for getting me, and millions of others, interested in science and astronomy as a kid. We lost him way too soon. I will never get tired of listening to his “Pale Blue Dot” essay. It’s one of the best things ever.
