• Concert

So the concert last night was awesome.  We got right up front again.  We got lucky.  We ended up being on the mellow side of the stage.  We didn’t get kicked in the head at all.  We brought the “real” camera this time and got much better pictures.  Reel Big Fish was awesome like always.  The opening bands were pretty good too.  Two of them I didn’t know Westbound Train and Suburban Legends.  Both of them were awesome and full on energy.  Streetlight Manifesto also opened up.  I didn’t like them much before and I still don’t like them very much.  I hope good bands like this keep coming to Fargo.

  • Welcome The Night

I am a huge fan of The Ataris and have been for years. Today they announced the release date of their new album. It will be out February 20th. I can’t wait. They also posted the first single on their MySpace page. It sounds pretty cool.

  • Reel Big Fish

Tonight is the Reel Big Fish concert.  Most of you probably know them from their 90s hit “Sellout”, but they have continued to put out good music since.  Just recently they put out a double live album that I have been listening to a lot.  They are a really good live band.  This is going to be my third time seeing them.  It should be pretty cool because they are playing at The Venue.  It’s the same place we saw the Gin Blossoms last month.  We should be able to get right up front.  There are three ska bands opening for them, so it’s going to be a fun night of ska.  Maybe I will discover more ska bands that I like.

  • NFL Flex Schedule

I wasn’t to sure how I was going to like the NFL’s new flex schedule this season.  So far I like it.  It almost guaranties a good games Sunday night.  Lasts nights game was the Giants and Bears and was a pretty good game.  Next week my Broncos will be playing against the Chargers and that should be a great game.  Now the week after that will be the Eagles and Colts.  That should also be a great game.  Now if only they would get rid of Pink singing the intro.

  • Smoke Alarm Saved the House

Today I threw a potato into the microwave for lunch and went back to the computer room. Then I heard the smoke alarm blaring so I ran to the kitchen and my potato was in flames in the microwave. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but I was more worried about not burning the house down. I tried another potato and stopped it before it burst into flames. It was way overcooked after 8 minutes and was ready to burst into flames. The wife said she cooks potatoes for 10 minutes. I think there is something wrong with our microwave. That sucks because it is less that a year old, but it is so black from the fire I think I would rather buy a new one than try and clean it.

  • Windows Vista

I have played around with Windows Vista Beta a little but, but not that much.  So for the rest of the day all I am going to use is Windows Vista.  I have it installed in Parallels on my Macbook.  Now I wish I would have gotten 2 gigs of RAM for the MacBook.  Windows runs fine with 1 gig, but it is a little pokey.  2 gigs would be ideal to use Parallels.

So since this is a fresh install I am using IE 7 to post this.  Where is the spellcheck?  Why doesn’t IE 7 have spellcheck?  Firefox 2 does and they came out about the same time.

I am liking Vista so far.  It’s nice, but it’s no OS X.  It still has a lot of the annoying things that Windows always has had, but it seems to be an improvement so far.

  • Start Page

I am always playing around with different start pages.  Back in the day I made my own.  Then I used Google News for a while.  Now I pretty much just use The Google.  I have played with tons of new ones, but never seem to use them.  I have tried Google ig, MyYahoo, Netvibes, Protopage, Pageflakes, and others that I can’t remember.  Today I played around with YourMinis.  It’s pretty cool just like the rest of them, but I probably won’t use it.  I just want to get to my Google Reader and read my feeds.  I guess these cool start pages weren’t meant for me.  They are cool though.  Have you ever check out Goowy?  Cool page.  So, what’s your start page?

  • Bah humbug!

Can you believe it, I am sick of Christmas already?  Last weekend stores in the mall were playing Christmas music.  Christmas lights are already up and lit in many places.  Traffic is already getting crazy around the mall so I have started taking my “Christmas Route” home from work to avoid it.  My calender is telling me it is only November though.  Christmas should not start until Black Friday.  One month of it is plenty for me.  I don’t need two.
