Ads in Bad Taste
I just ran across a site where someone put Google Ads in Kurt Cobain’s suicide letter. At first I thought it was pretty sad. Someone trying to make money off of common search phrases from the letter. I checked out the guys blog, and it looks like it was just a little experiment to see what kind of ads he gets. I sure hope he isn’t making any money off the ads though.

Punchkids
One of my current favorite bands is Punchline. They are super cool. We saw them in concert opening up for Reel Big Fish last summer. I fell in love with them instantly. After the show I bought their CD right from the lead singer for $5. What a deal. This spring their new cd, 37 Everywhere, came out. It is even better. What’s even cooler is that they are always messing around and putting cool videos up on YouTube. Here are the last couple videos they made. A couple cool acoustic performances on their couch.
The Fake, The Snake, And The Birthday Cake
You can check out more of their videos on their YouTube Page.

White & Nerdy
So Weird Al’s latest video is now legally on YouTube so now I can post it here without it being taken down. It’s nice and geeky, and you know I love all things geek.

Hello, Hello, Hello, How Low?
It’s hard to believe it’s been fifteen years this month since Nevermind came out. To this day it’s my all time favorite album. It’s one of those albums that either changed your life, or you hated it. I have never really cared much for music that the radio plays. back in ’91 I was a sophomore in high school and listening mostly to rap. Yeah, that’s right, I use to listen to rap. In ’91 I was listening to Run DMC, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest and a bunch of other rap groups. I still like rap from those days, but can’t stand anything make since. Once I pick up the Nevermind tape that was it. No more rap for me. Nirvana opened my eyes to a bunch of band that were different. They had short hair, didn’t wear makeup, and look like ordinary dudes. I fell in love with a bunch of unknown bands like Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and countless others. My tastes of music has changed a little, but I am still a big punk/indie music fan thank to Nirvana.
I wonder what Spencer Eldon is up to these day? (he is the kid on the cover of nervermind)

So Sad
So Morrice Clorrett will be spending the next 3 1/2 years in prison. That’s pretty sad. The kid had some talent. If he only could have stayed out of trouble he would be a multimillionaire now. Once he grows up I bet he is really going to be kicking himself. I only hope he learns his lesson. He will only be 26 when he gets out and his daughter will be 4.

Firefox Hacking
So I was just surfing around on the net and accidentally hit j+enter in Firefox. To my suprise JenniferLopez.com popped up. Weird? I wonder if how that works? I wonder if people pay to be a one letter click in Firefox? A+enter goes to Apple.com. I+enter goes to apple.com/itunes. Q+enter goes to a Motorola Q site. Every letter goes to a different site.
**Update** Ok, I don’t think they are paid links. C+enter goes to a Wikipedia site about the C programing language. It’s fun to play around with. G+enter goes to Gmail. that is a good one to remember. Some weird sites come up. I think is just Firefox trying to guess what you meant. It’s weird that U+enter goes to Arizona.edu. How did they pick that U?
**Updated Update** Ok, I solved the mystery. When Firefox can’t find the site you typed in it just does a Google “I’m Feeling Lucky” search. That makes sense. Everybody else probably new that. Oh well, you learn something every day.
