Hello, Hello, Hello, How Low?
It’s hard to believe it’s been fifteen years this month since Nevermind came out. To this day it’s my all time favorite album. It’s one of those albums that either changed your life, or you hated it. I have never really cared much for music that the radio plays. back in ’91 I was a sophomore in high school and listening mostly to rap. Yeah, that’s right, I use to listen to rap. In ’91 I was listening to Run DMC, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest and a bunch of other rap groups. I still like rap from those days, but can’t stand anything make since. Once I pick up the Nevermind tape that was it. No more rap for me. Nirvana opened my eyes to a bunch of band that were different. They had short hair, didn’t wear makeup, and look like ordinary dudes. I fell in love with a bunch of unknown bands like Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and countless others. My tastes of music has changed a little, but I am still a big punk/indie music fan thank to Nirvana.I wonder what Spencer Eldon is up to these day? (he is the kid on the cover of nervermind)

So Sad
So Morrice Clorrett will be spending the next 3 1/2 years in prison. That’s pretty sad. The kid had some talent. If he only could have stayed out of trouble he would be a multimillionaire now. Once he grows up I bet he is really going to be kicking himself. I only hope he learns his lesson. He will only be 26 when he gets out and his daughter will be 4.

Firefox Hacking
So I was just surfing around on the net and accidentally hit j+enter in Firefox. To my suprise JenniferLopez.com popped up. Weird? I wonder if how that works? I wonder if people pay to be a one letter click in Firefox? A+enter goes to Apple.com. I+enter goes to apple.com/itunes. Q+enter goes to a Motorola Q site. Every letter goes to a different site.
**Update** Ok, I don’t think they are paid links. C+enter goes to a Wikipedia site about the C programing language. It’s fun to play around with. G+enter goes to Gmail. that is a good one to remember. Some weird sites come up. I think is just Firefox trying to guess what you meant. It’s weird that U+enter goes to Arizona.edu. How did they pick that U?
**Updated Update** Ok, I solved the mystery. When Firefox can’t find the site you typed in it just does a Google “I’m Feeling Lucky” search. That makes sense. Everybody else probably new that. Oh well, you learn something every day.

You’re Fired
So one of my blog friends Salena just got fired for spending too much time on the Internet at work. I bet it’s mostly from being on Meebo most of the day. I have chatted with her at work many times. I was the one that showed her Meebo. Sorry.
That got me starting to worry. I mean, I was online for 3 hours straight at work on Sunday. It’s not like I was sitting at the computer for 3 hours straight. I just had the Broncos game streaming from my home computer with Orb. I was still doing my job, but if they checked the logs they would see I was online for 3 hours.
Everybody does stuff online at work all the time, and I suppose technically they shouldn’t be. I don’t think my job really cares. As long as the work is getting done and nobody is doing anything illegal.
I would at least hope I would get a warning that I was spending to much time online. Salena didn’t even get that.

Are You Ready…
So the weather is starting to get cooler out. The leaves are starting to change, but I don’t care. The NFL season has finally started. I use to follow almost every sport, but now days football is about all I pay attention too.
This week I watched the opener on Thursday, and with the help of orb I watched the Broncos games at work yesterday. Then I watch two games after work, and there are two more games tonight.
Too much football? No way. There isn’t such a thing.
Oh, and what is with Pink singing the intro to NBC’s football game? I think it sucks. It’s a bad rip off of Hank Williams Jr. from when ABC had Monday Night Football.

Sign I am getting old
We have the crappy light rock station on here at work and they just played “Smells Like Teen Spirt”. Nirvana? Light rock? OK.
Now the Beastie Boys are on. WTF?
I guess I am getting old. Music that I liked as a kid is now getting played on the light rock and classic rock stations. Not cool.

On A Stick
And who said you can’t get everything on a stick at the Minnesota State Fair.

The Root of All Evil?
I am a sucker for a good documentary. The problem is that most of them are biased in some way. Of course I like the ones that are biased in the way I like. The problem with that is you don’t get people from the other side to watch and learn. I, like most people agree that Michael Moore is a little over the top. I liked all his movies, but that is probably because I agree with most of what he has to say. Anybody with an opposite view isn’t going to watch Michael Moore movies, so they aren’t going to learn anything from them. They are just going to keep listening to Rush, Ann, and Hannity and all the crap that comes out of their mouths.
I just watched a really good documentary on Google video. It is about how religion is all wrong and is doing more harm than good. I have always thought religions were bullshit. I have never understood how people could believe in them, but I have never thought believing in nonsense as being harmful. Religion has never bothered me too much though because I know all the smart scientist and biologists doing all the good research that they do know the right things.
The documentary is from Richard Dawkins and called “The Root of All Evil?”. It wasn’t the title he wanted. The network that aired it titled it that. I thought it was really good, but then maybe that’s because I agree with it. You can check it out here. Part 1 Part 2 It’s a good watch whatever you believe. If only to make you think.
