Concerts
It’s been a slow concert year for me. I don’t think I have been to any this summer. Last summer I went to five I think. I just heard about Reel Big Fish coming to Fargo. Yes, a good concert is actually coming to Fargo. Gin Blossoms are also coming to Fargo. I really liked them back in the 90s and thing I will probably go see them too. Both of them are playing at Playmakers in Fargo. I never liked concerts at Playmakers, but they have done a lot of renovating of the place, and it is actually called The Venue now. I hear lot of good things about the place and am looking forward to checking it out. It is so nice when bands I like come to Fargo. A four minute drive is so much better than a four hour drive. We do have tickets to a concert in the cities this December. That will be a long drive. I just hope the weather is nice then. I don’t want to miss the best band in the world.

TGIF
Man it was a crazy week. I just got done working 4 12 hour days. It feels like all I did this week was eat and sleep.

Sometimes I hate Verizon
I hate cell phone companies. My wife was having problems with her cellphone randomly shutting off. We brought it back to the Verizon store and it is still under warranty so that was a good thing. The only problem was that the replacement phone will have a software “upgrade” on it so the phone will no longer play MP3s. WTF? What kind of upgrade takes away features? They disguise it by letting you buy songs from VCast. Yeah, screw that. Why would anybody want to re-buy their music for their cellphone?
Well, we got the phone yesterday and it took me five minutes to find the hidden menu to turn the MP3 feature back on. No problem. Then Verizon wanted to charge us $10 to transfer the address book, but pictures and ringtones would be lost. WTF? Screw that.
Five more minutes and I had everything transferred to the new phone, address book, pictures, ringtones, everything. Why couldn’t Verizon do that?
I hate the way cellphone companies try to nickle and dime you to death. I don’t get suckered into it. I make my own ringtones. I don’t buy into any of that VCast crap. I just wish they didn’t disable features on the phone to make a buck.

St. Croix River
We had a great time in Talors Falls on our dinner cruise. Here are some pictures.

That’s the boat we rode on.

There is the St. Croix River.

Left side Minnesota right side Wisconsin.

The Action Design EP is Now Out
My favorite band without an album just released their first EP last night. Only 1000 are available, and you have to order them right from the band. Totally DIY and awesome. I ordered mine right away. You can check them out on their myspace page.

Weekend
So I have been a little quite on here lately. I have just been busy with work and was out of town last weekend. Just haven’t had much time on the Internets much lately. As you have guessed, I have today off, but we are taking off in a few hours. My Mom is taking us on a riverboat cruise on the St. Croix river tomorrow. The St. Croix is the river that is on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin. So we are heading back to our hometown in central Minnesota today. See ya Sunday.

Ads in Bad Taste
I just ran across a site where someone put Google Ads in Kurt Cobain’s suicide letter. At first I thought it was pretty sad. Someone trying to make money off of common search phrases from the letter. I checked out the guys blog, and it looks like it was just a little experiment to see what kind of ads he gets. I sure hope he isn’t making any money off the ads though.

Punchkids
One of my current favorite bands is Punchline. They are super cool. We saw them in concert opening up for Reel Big Fish last summer. I fell in love with them instantly. After the show I bought their CD right from the lead singer for $5. What a deal. This spring their new cd, 37 Everywhere, came out. It is even better. What’s even cooler is that they are always messing around and putting cool videos up on YouTube. Here are the last couple videos they made. A couple cool acoustic performances on their couch.
The Fake, The Snake, And The Birthday Cake
You can check out more of their videos on their YouTube Page.
