Billy the Kid – “Riverbank”
So my newest favorite Canadian is Billy the Kid. I’ve posted a little bit about her before. Today she posted a new video for the song “Riverbank” which is off her newest album Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. Go buy it, it’s great.

The Muffs – “Weird Boy Next Door”
I totally spaced out on the new album from The Muffs that came out on July 29th. I fixed that today. Thanks iTunes. I also think there is an error on Wikipedia, there is no way that Kim Shattuck, the lead singer of The Muffs, is 51. How the hell did that happen, and my god, she doesn’t even look 40 yet.

In Canada
In this video, Chris Hadfield and his brother, make me almost want to move a couple hours north to America’s Hat. If you haven’t read Chris Hadfield’s book yet, you should. It’s pretty amazing all that he has accomplished. It’ll sure make you feel lazy.

It’s a Sonic Youth day
Today I’m missing how carefree my early ’90s were, and how much I loved the noise that Sonic Youth made. -

Bob Mould on Boingboing
I was too young to get into Hüsker Dü, but Bob Mould is still one of my guitar heroes. Sugar was one of my favorite bands from my college years. David Pescovitz of Boingboing sat down with Bob Mould for a great interview.
