None
Well, we didn’t get any. They were saying we could have gotten a couple of inches. We will see what happens tonight. Maybe the trick or treaters will get an extra treat.

The S Word
Anybody have a guess on how much snow we will get today? It’s not coming down yet, but it’s close. I can feel it.

Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Cost
I am a sucker for a good documentary. I loved Super Size Me, and I think I went almost a year without fast food after watching that. I just netflixed Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Cost.
I hate Wal-Mart as much as the next guy. I thought this movie would change my mind about shopping at Wal-Mart. I don’t really like shopping there, but they got a bigger selection of everything. We always end of going there because we can’t find what we want at Target. The Movie really didn’t change my mind on anything. Wal-Mart is just like any other business. They try to make the most money at the lowest cost. Sure it’s sad that small stores end up out of business when Wal-Mart comes to town, but that’s business isn’t it? Business is all about competition. You have to be inventive and think of other ways to beat Wal-Mart. The movie was mostly a bunch of people complaining about their low wages. It’s Wal-Mart people what do you expect to make? I don’t think retail workers anywhere else are making much more. I have never worked retail so I don’t really know what it’s like, but I have worked in the restaurant business. I worked my ass off in the restaurant business for 7 years making just over minimum wage with no benefits. We were so busy most days I never even got a break. I am guessing retail is similar. The only sad thing is the benefits. The amount of money Wal-Mart makes they could afford better benefits. Basically what I got out of the movie is get an education so you don’t get stuck working at Wal-Mart.

Fall Back
I got stuck working nights this weekend. Saturday night is going to be a long night. At 2:00 AM it’s going to suddenly be 1:00 AM again. It’s going to be a 13 hour night instead of 12. Oh well, at least I get OT for that one hour.
I hope I am workings nights when we get to spring ahead. Getting paid for 12 hours and working only 11 is pretty cool.

Firefox 2 Bug?
I love the new features in Firefox 2, but it sure seems to crash a lot on my MacBook. It has never crashed on my non intel Mac, Windows, or Linux machines. I wonder if it’s just an Intel Mac thing. Anybody else having problem with Firefox 2?

The One Where I Cry at the End
For some reason I have been having dreams about my Grandma lately. It’s been weird. I haven’t really thought about here for years, but now I am really starting to miss her. She died in 1987. I can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years. I remember the funeral like it was yesterday. So for today’s picture, I took one of my Dad’s old teddy bear. That bear means a lot to me. Sure it’s all beat up and looks like hell, but it’s the only thing I got from my Grandma. She use to always tell me stories about that bear and my Dad. About how he ripped the bears mouth so he could eat roast beef. Man, this is the first time that a blog post has turned me into tears.
My Grandpa died earlier this year. I never really got to know him very well. Most of my cousins knew him better than I did. He was a big hunter and my cousins would go hunting with him every year. I am not a hunter, so I never had the chance to really get to know my Grandpa. He was a great guy. very generous. I just wish I would have known him better.
I only have one Grandparent left. She is in good health, but she is kinda loosing her mind. She doesn’t remember much of anything. The sad thing is that I don’t see her all that much anymore. Life seems to get in the way to much. It’s going to be hard when she dies too.

Updated Tinkring
So I have been playing around with my blog lately. You have always been able to see what I have been up to on Digg and Del.icio.us over there—>. Now if you look over there—-> I have a link to my link blog. Whenever I find something cool I will probably add it there. Today I found a Photoshop tutorial on making some Warhol art. So today I tried my hand at it with my Picture A Day. Not the greatest. My photoshop skills are a little lacking, but I am learning. Almost everything over there—-> has an RSS feed. All the more easier for you to stalk me.

Gin Blossoms
We just got back from the Gin Blossoms concert so yesterday’s Picture A Day was of their lead singer Robin Wilson. It was a pretty good concert. We got right up from against the railing. During a few of the songs he was taking people’s cell phone and singing to whoever was on the other line. First time I have ever seen that at a concert. I was so close at getting a pick a couple of times. I have never gotten a pick from a concert, and I still haven’t. The Venue is a pretty cool place. I can’t wait to see Reel Big Fish there in a couple of weeks.

Hack Your E815
So since I started this Picture A Day thing I have been using my cell phone camera a lot more. It’s been a pain in the ass pulling the memory card out every time I want to get pictures off it. So it was finally time to hack it. Verizon loved to advertise that my phone had bluetooth, yet they disable most of the bluetooth options anyway. I found this great site. If you have the Motorola E815 or V710 this site has all you need to hack it. So far I have gotten bluetooth enable so I can transfer files to and from the phone via my laptop. I also got the option to transfer files to and from the memory card. The default could only transfer pictures. Now it is simple to add a new ringtone. And one minor hack I did was to add my voice mail to the number 1 autodial number. My phone feels so much more usefull now. I think it’s time to see what else I can do with it.
