• The Ten Commandments Are Not Law

Yesterday there was a letter to the editor in our local paper that really got me fuming. The writer was trying to say all our laws and constitution are based on religion, which is totally false. He was all for posting the Ten Commandments everywhere. I am not offended by the Ten Commandments, and if you want to live by those rules go for it. I just don’t agree with the Ten Commandments being on city property. They have nothing to do with our laws, and encourage a certain religion. Actually enforcing most of the commandments would be illegal and unconstitutional. Only three of the commandments are actually laws. I was going to get more into it, but it isn’t worth my time. Dave Slusher, who is a much smarter guy than me, and has a great podcast, recently blogged about the 10 Commandments. It’s a good read and explains everything much better than I can.

  • Another Blog

I have been debating whether I should mention this or not, but I started another blog. It’s not replacing this one. it’s just a little side blog that I am doing with a friend I met online. It is more personal though. So personal that I am posting anonymously, and I am not going to link to it. If I know you well enough I might give you the link.

  • Hostel

Last night I watched Hostel. I don’t know why it got such bad reviews. I thought it was pretty good; gory, but good. I really enjoy horror movies. I guess you would classify this one as a horror because of the gore. It’s not really scary though. It is pretty creepy though. I felt pretty creeped out after the movie, but that is the point of it. If I listened to reviews I would miss a lot of good moves and end up watching a bunch of crappy ones.

  • Virtual Tower of Terror

When I was in Florida last month on of the places we went to was MGM Studios, one of the many Disney theme parks. While we were there we went on the Tower of Terror. Someone created a virtual Tower of Terror in Half-Life 2. Being that I was just there a month ago, I can tell you that is it very realistic. Link (via Boing Boing)

Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota

I am sure all of you have heard that “Weird Al” song about the the biggest ball of twine in Minnesota. I always knew it existed, but never new exactly where. Well, now I know. It is in Darwin Minnesota. I can’t believe I have never seen it or been there. I use to live pretty close to there. The following map show all the roads that I have traveled on regularly. The arrow is where the ball of twine is at.Maybe next time I am in the area I should visit Darwin, MN.

  • EMI To Sell DRM Free Music

If I would have heard this yesterday there is no way I would have believed it. it looks like EMI is going to be the first major record label to release their stuff DRM free. That’s awesome. That means I might actually be able to buy stuff on iTunes (I refuse to buy anything with DRM in it). I don’t listen to many major label bands, and I am not sure how many bands EMI has that I like, but hopefully the rest of the labels wake up and realize that DRM is hurting sales.

  • The Post About Nothing

I hate blog posts that basically say that someone has nothing to blog about, but that’s what this one is. My blog has been kinda slow, but it’s not because I have been busy. Actually I am far from busy. I am totally caught up on all my stuff for the first time in a long time. Google Reader is empty, Tivo is empty, podcasts are all listened to. I haven’t been busy outside either. Even though all our snow is gone, it’s been raining for three straight days. Maybe Twitter is taking away some of my blogging mojo? I don’t know. So….what was this blog post about again? Oh yeah, NOTHING! I am still here, doing the same old boring stuff.
