Burning any book is wrong
Is everybody else as sick of hearing about the Qur’an burning as me?
Why is this news?
So some nut thinks 0.00000000001% of the Muslim population represents them all. With that kind of thinking, you might as well say, “Since all Christians want to blow up federal buildings, lets burn some Bibles on April 20th”. It’s just plain stupid.
Since nowadays we have many 24 hour news channels, and most of the time nothing is really going on, they need some kind of ratings boosting story. So nuts like Terry Jones, the Balloon Boy, and many others make headlines, and have a platform.
Personally I find burning any kind of book offensive. I bet the majority of Christians are against burning Qur-ans too. It’s just another example of extremists making a bad name for the rest of them. I was raised Christian and was taught to love everybody, even people that don’t agree with you. Burning other people’s book of worship doesn’t sound like a Christian thing to do to me.
Some people think burning the Qur’an’s will make more enemies for the US in the Middle East. I don’t really agree with that. It would probably piss off our enemies, but the majority of Muslims over there I am sure would understand that this is just being done by a bunch of wackaloons, and is in no way representative of the majority of Americans.
I really wish the news media would just ignore the crazies, but crazies drive ratings, ratings sells ads, and ads make money. And really, that’s what it’s all about. Who cares about informing the public about what’s really going on, when there is money to be made in making up their own news.

RSS Overload
Many people have email overload problems. So many that Google recently came out with a priority inbox feature. I haven’t checked out that option because I don’t really have an email problem. I have great filters setup so I don’t see the 100s of spam message a day, and other then that I maybe get 5 emails a day. No problem managing that.My main problem is managing my RSS feeds which includes all the podcasts I watch and listen to. The other day I checked out my stats in Google Reader, and I have read so many items they can’t tell me how many. Since last October I have read over 300,000 items in my Google Reader. I love my RSS feeds, they are always there for me to read. I really have no problem keeping up with my nearly 700 feeds either. I hit “RSS Zero” several time throughout the day. My main problem is spending too much time in Google Reader. I have a bad habit of wanting to know what is going on in the world — not that that is a bad thing — I’m just too afraid of missing something. I need to turn off the Google Reader more and realize it’s ok to miss things. I really need to spend more time on my ever increasing reading list. Currently I have 15 unread books on my iPad.
My other RSS problem is my podcasts. I have a huge podcast addiction. I am always adding more shows, but never deleting. I hate unsubscribing from shows that I love, but there just isn’t enough time in the day. Now that football season is about to start, I will actually be spending a little more time in front of the TV, and need to cut back on my podcasts somehow.
The internet is full of good crap. I love it! But I need to learn how to take breaks. I will never understand how people get bored, or like watching mind numbing crappy TV. I always have way more that I want to do then there is time in a day. Now I am off to work on that reading list.

F**k You by Cee Lo Green (Official Video)
It’s not normally the type of music I like, but I kinda dig this song. All the charm would be lost though if they had to edit it for TV or Radio.
